About the Kruger

The Kruger National Park is one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. It first became a protected park in 1926. In 1927 only 3 vehicles entered the park but over the years it became a very popular destination. The climate of Kruger is subtropical.

Summer days are humid and hot with temperatures soaring to 38°C (100°F). The dry winter season is ideal for visiting the Park. Viewing wildlife is more rewarding as animals are drawn to the waterholes to drink and the vegetation is more sparse for better sightings.

Visitors are intrigued by its amazing diversity of landscapes, beautiful trees, plant and animal life. It is home to South Africa's famous Big Five: Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Elephants, an Buffalo's. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as Vultures, Eagles and Storks.

Come and enjoy the wonders of the Kruger with us!
